RUSDEN BAROSSA VALLEY BLACK GUTS SHIRAZ 2005
The Rusden vineyard is situated on the deep Vine Vale sand below the eastern Barossa Ranges.
The early pioneers carved this area out of cypress, blue gum and wattle woodland, once known as Bethany Sandscrub.
Here low yielding vines are pruned and picked by hand. Fruit fermented at optimal ripeness, in small open fermenters and followed by gentle basket pressing.
Careful maturation in new and old American and French oak barriques contributed to super lush intense and complex fruit flavours, lending themselves to the name "Black Guts".
